HQ AMC TO HOST BLOOD DRIVE - TODAY
The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center mobile donation bus will be at the HQ AMC (Bldg 1600) today at 402 Scott Drive. Blood units collected will benefit local hospitals. To make an appointment, call 618-659-0542 or log on to www.bloodcenterimpact.org, sponsor code 10089. Appointments preferred to reduce wait times, walk-ins welcome! CAIB MEETING - 31 AUG
The 375 AMW/CC invites leaders from across Scott AFB (tenant units are very much welcomed) to attend the Community Action Information Board, CAIB, meeting 31 Aug, 1315hrs, 375 AMW Conference Room. The CAIB is a cross-functional forum addressing quality of life, personal readiness, and community issues. Email questions to LCDR Julie Chodacki.

9/11 REMEMBRANCE COMMITTEE MEETING - 30 AUG
The next Team Scott 9/11 Observation Committee meeting is Tuesday, 30 August at 1430 in the 375th OG Conference Room. Also, Team Scott's 9/11 Observation website is now live and can be accessed via government computers at www.teamscott911.com. There is no fee to register for the Run/Walk to Remember. You also have the option to purchase an event T-shirt online for $12 via PayPal or credit card, or you may reserve a shirt and pay via cash/check for $15 at the event. As part of the wing's 9/11 remebrance ceremony, the committee is looking for stories and experiences members had on Sept. 11. If you would like to contribute your experience, contact Airman 1st Class Jacob Beeman at jacob.beeman@us.af.mil.

The NCO Professional Enhancement course targets SSgt/TSgts and is designed to bridge the gap between Professional Military Education (ALS/NCO Academy). This program offers mentorship, resources for career development, networking and self improvement opportunities. RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE - 13 SEP
The Red Cross will be holding its Monthly Blood Drive at Rockwell Hall Sept 13 from 0800-1700.

Red Cross is still suffering a Blood Shortage. The USO will also be present providing food for presenting donors. 2011 PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT GUIDE (PDG)
Beginning with the 12E8, SMSgt promotion test cycle, the 2011 PDG will be used as a study reference. The printed version is delayed, and will not ship until late December. Since the PDG is available online, there will be NO DELAY in the testing windows for the 2012 Promotion Cycles. The PDG is available at https:www.omsq.af.mil/TE/EPRRC.pdf.  Please contact the Base Testing Office at 256-5290 or 256-6364 for additional information.

ARMED FORCE CLASSIFICATION TEST (ASAVAB Equivalent) - 30 AUG AND 15 SEP
Due to additional demand as a result of AF Special Duty Screening Team Visit and other AF retraining initiatives, the Base Testing Office has added two additional AFCT testing dates. All AFCT exams begin sharply at 0800. Call Base Testing at 256-5290/6364 for more info.

EIM SITE OWNER OCTOBER CLASSES
The 375th AMC EIM Helpdesk has two more EIM Site Owner classes available in October.

The class dates are as follows:

Oct 5 & 6, 0800-1600 Bldg 859 Rm 134

Oct 19 & 20, 0800-1600 Bldg 859 Rm 134

This is a mandatory class for anyone who "owns" an EIM Site, however if you have already taken an EIM Site Owner class and have the certificate you DO NOT need to attend this training. If you have any questions, contact the 375th AMC EIM Helpdesk at 256-3054.

ENERGY TIP
Energy-efficient light bulbs are cheap to run because they mainly make light rather than heat. 90% of the energy used by traditional bulbs is wasted in producing heat. As a reminder, Col. Michael Hornitschek, 375th AMW commander, will host the next energy conversation meeting 8 Sep at 1130 in the wing conference room. All are welcome to attend

BOWL-A-THON FUNDRAISER FOR 9/11 - 31 AUG
The AFNIC Top 3, Scott Top 3 and the 9/11 Committee will be hosting a 9/11 Observation Ceremony bowl-A-Thon to raise funds for the Team Scott 9/11 Memorial. All funds will be donated to the 9/11 committee to aide them in this venture. The attached flyer has specifics on the event. Everyone is welcome. This event will not be considered an alternate duty location for civilian employees. Liberal leave/leave will need be utilized to attend the event. Sign up by 30 Aug. Cardinal Creek Golf Course will host its second annual Military Retiree Appreciation Golf Tournament 1 Sep, 0900 shotgun start. Tournament Format is a 2 person scramble. SCUBA DIVING TRIP - 3 SEP
Always wondered what it would be like to breathe underwater and to swim with the fish, this is your chance. Join Outdoor Recreation on a Scuba Diving Adventure at Mermet Springs on Saturday, 3 Sep. Cost is $48/person, which includes transportation, equipment, gear and instruction. One on one instruction from a dive master will be given for approximately 30 minutes. Buses will depart at 0730, returning around 1600. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Deadline for pre-registration is 1 Sep. FALL SKEET LEAGUE - 7 SEP
The Fall Skeet League begins Wednesday, 7 Sep at the Rod & Gun Club. Interested participants must pre-register by 31 Aug for scheduling purposes. League fee is $5 per shooter with a minimum of four shooters per team. All new shooters must attend a safety briefing prior to start of the season. For more information, call 256-2052/2067.

SKY DIVING ADVENTURE - 10 SEP
Have you ever wanted to jump out of a plane? Ever wanted the wind rushing past your face at speeds of over 100mph? Then join Outdoor Recreation for an opportunity to do a Static Line Sky Dive or a Tandem Jump on Saturday, 10 Sep. A Static Line Jump is a solo jump, where the parachute is deployed by a line attached to the aircraft. Cost for this extreme adventure is $196/person, which includes transportation, training, equipment, debrief, certificate and logbook for steps toward earning a USPA license. Not sure about solo jumping? Then sign-up for a Tandem Jump (instructor is attached to you and you jump together). Cost for the tandem jump is $250/person. Patrons must be 18 yrs. old to participate and some weight restrictions apply. Deadline to sign-up for the Tandem Jump is 3 Sep, and the deadline for the Static Jump is 7 Sep. END OF SUMMER COUPLES TOURNAMENT - 10 SEP
Cardinal Creek Golf Course will be hosting their End of Summer Couples Tournament 10 Sept with a 1230 shotgun start.This tournament is a two person (male/female) scramble. Entry fee is $90 per couple, $60 per Annual Fee Payer couple and $40 per Eagle Annual Fee Payer couple. Fee includes green fees, cart, range balls, dinner, beverages, closest to the pin, longest drive, shortest drive and flighted cash payout! The Air Force annually recognizes an AF Male and Female Athlete of the Year. To ensure all deserving athletes are considered for this prestigious award, nominations are being sought from Scott AFB. HQ Air Force Services has launched its second annual golfer survey at 71 courses worldwide. This survey, designed by the National Golf Foundation, gives Scott AFB golfers the chance to provide valuable feedback on the base course.
