4/6/2011 - SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill.  -- Beginning April 1, TMO will require three weeks from the day you sign your DD 1299 and 1797 to begin packing your personal property, this includes all local moves and non-temporary storage shipments.

If you do not have three weeks from the day you get your orders you will need to see TMO and provide a signed Emergency Impact Statement (explaining why you need your personal property picked up). This letter must be signed by your squadron commander. You will also be asked to provide alternate pack and pickup dates.

Other tips

or PCS moves, go to as soon as you receive your orders, register for a DPS account and start your move online. Bring DD Forms 1299 and 1797 along with a copy of your orders to the Traffic Management Office.

For separating, retiring, joint spouse moves or first time PCS members only: contact TMO as soon as you receive your orders to ensure you get your preferred pack and pick up dates. You will not process your move on the website.

If a friend or family member is releasing your personal property to a carrier on any day of pack and pickup you will need to provide a Power of Attorney for that individual.

Customer Satisfaction Surveys are vital! You can complete a CSS by clicking 'CSS' in DPS or by clicking the link sent to you in an email.

If you have not been notified by a carrier 10 days prior to your first pack date please contact TMO as soon as possible.

Requested pack and pickup dates are not guaranteed.

For questions please contact TMO at 256-1201/5249 or e-mail the office at
