MOBEX trains SAFB Airmen to deploy

Airmen assigned to the 375th Logistics Readiness Squadron assist an Airman with gathering the needed items for a mobility exercise in the Individual Protective Equipment warehouse on Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, Jan. 23, 2019. During the MOBEX, the wing was tested on its ability to deploy nearly 250 Airmen. Part of this training requires Airmen to be issued gear they would need in a deployed location. The warehouse holds enough gear to outfit 5,760 Airmen at any given time.

Level C level of protection is used in events where the concentration and type of airborne substance is known and the criteria for using an air purifying respirator are met.

Bioenvironmental ensures Airmen safety

Airman William Wang, 375th Aerospace Medicine Squadron bioenvironmental engineering technician, uses a dropper filled with a combination of buffer solution and a simulated suspected contaminant during a training exercise on Nov. 29, 2018, at Scott Air Force Base. Wang applied the dropper to a hand held assay which gives the presumptive result of eight different biological agents. The buffer solution and HHA are then sent to a lab for results.
