AF marathon champion teaches running basics
Lt. Col. Mark Cucuzzella, West Virginia University professor of family medicine and two time Air Force Marathon champion shows the crowd of participants different exercises that could help a runner with their posture and reduce pain. The three exercises that were taught to the members: slowly jogging in place focusing on landing closer to your center of mass; use a bicycle inner tube, and have someone hold it around the runner while they try to run away, which forces the runner to activate the glutes, he primary running muscle; and running with a jump rope, which forces the runner to spring, balance, posterize and not overstride.
