ENERGY CONVERSATION - 5 DEC
Your energy tip of the week: Keeping our homes warm during the winter months accounts for about 2/3 of our house hold energy bill. Be sure to join the wing commander for the next Energy Conversation which is Dec. 5 at 11:30 a.m. in the Wing Conference Room. All are welcomed to attend.

RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE - 13 DEC (FINAL DRIVE FOR 2011)
Monthly Blood Drive will be held at Rockwell Hall Tues Dec 13th from 0800-1700 To check eligibility requirements visit http://www.redcrossblood.org/donatingblood/eligibility-requirements. 80 Blood Units Is the Goal! BYSTANDER INTERVENTION TRAINING
Sexual Assault Bystander Intervention training is mandatory training for active duty Air Force personnel to include DoD civilians who supervise active duty Air Force. Suspense to complete this training is May 1, 2012. Training is offered at the Ed & Trng Bldg 1650 Rm 98 on TU, TH, and FRI. PRODUCTIVITY ENHANCING CAPITAL INVESTMENT (PECI) PROGRAM
Commanders-do you need dollars for equipment purchases? The PECI program provides funding to purchase readily available off-the-shelf technology to improve combat readiness, enhance unit capability, and conserve resources. FASCAP is for capital equipment investments under $250K and requires MAJCOM approval. PIF is for equipment and facilities investments over $250K and requires Air Force approval. VISITOR CONTROL CENTER CLOSED - 23 DEC
The members at the Visitor Control Center are glad to help family members get passes to visit but want everyone to know they'll be closed Dec. 23. So what does this mean to you if you have family coming into town for the holidays? If at all possible get your passes early. Have the family come in a day or two earlier to avoid the lines. If this is not possible , passes still will be available at the Shiloh Gate, but might take longer due to manning limitations that day. Please be prepared for these closures and enjoy your holidays.

FREE CHRISTMAS TREE GIVEAWAY - TODAY
The 375th Force Support Squadron will be giving away over 300 free Christmas Trees on 1 Dec beginning at 1600 at the Scott Club (West parking lot). The Trees for Troops Foundation and Wahmhoff Farms of Gobles, Michigan will be donating these trees to Scott Air Force Base. These trees range from approximately 5 to 7 foot in height. Trees will be issued on a first come, first served basis. The free trees are open to everyone affiliated with Scott AFB. The USO will also be in attendance giving away hot chocolate and treats. ANGEL TREE - Now through 10 DEC
The First Sergeants, A&FRC and the Chapel are working with the Base Exchange and their vendors to spread a little extra holiday cheer to our Scott families. There will be Angel Trees at the Exchange, Airman & Family Readiness Center and the Chapel now - 10 Dec. People who would like to purchase a present for a Scott child can stop by one of the three locations to pick up an Angel Card. The Angel Card and gift will be returned to the Exchange regardless of where they obtained the Angel Card. If you have any questions or need additional info please don't hesitate to call 256-8668.

Vote for your favorite Holiday Greeting Card and the winning organization will win the People's Choice Award and $100 in FSS Gift Cards! Photos of the cards can be viewed on the Force Support website, www.375fss.com for Online Voting held now through midnight 4 Dec. NOTE: Big Change! This year in order to control the number of repeated/looped votes and to level the playing field, all LAN/SAFB office computers CANNOT be used. SAFB personnel must vote from off-base computers. This allows for only one vote per day. You may vote once every day of the competition but only one vote will register to the voting grid each day per computer. 12 DAYS OF HOLIDAY FITNESS - now through 18 DEC
The Fitness Center welcomes all base personnel to participate in the free 12 Days of Holiday Fitness Challenge. Participants must complete 12 workouts anytime between 1 Dec and 18 Dec. Random drawings for awards will be held at both the Fitness Center and James Sports Center for challenge participants (must be present to win). Interested in your own Child Care Business? If yes, then become a Family Child Care Provider. Care for all ages is in high demand! The next Provider Orientation dates are 5-9 Dec. FLURRY HURRY 5K RUN - 9 DEC
Join the Fitness Center by participating in the Flurry Hurry 5K Fun Run/Walk scheduled for 9 Dec. The run will begin at 1130 at the Parade Grounds. Entry fee is $12 for those wanting a long sleeve T-shirt and to be eligible for awards. To receive a T-shirt on race day, participants must register NLT 5 Dec. Awards will be given for the 1st place male/female finishers, plus random drawings for the remaining paid finishers. The 375th Force Support Squadron has starting a new chess club! The meetings are held every Thursday from 1800 to 1930 at the Scott Club in the Enlisted Lounge. Chess Club is open to all base personnel and their families, 18 years of age and older. U.S. Chess Federation rules will be played. All chess equipment will be provided and participation is free.
