SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. --

375 AMW TRAINING DAYS
Beginning today, the 375th Air Mobility Wing designates the 2nd Thursday of each month as a unit training day. Base customer service organizations are permitted to reduce or close customer service points except for emergencies. Agencies affected:

-- MPF will be closed except for emergency DEERS and ID issues;

-- Fitness Center closed but James Gym is open;

-- 375th MDG -- training begins at noon, clinic services will be limited;

-- Comptrollers-closed;

-- Health and Wellness Center--closed.

All others will be minimally manned to support the training requirements. Thank you for your patience and understanding, and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

TRAFFIC FLOW ADJUSTMENTS - TODAY
The Civil Engineers and Security Forces will be conducting joint final denial barrier inspections that will require some traffic re-routing during today. No gates will be closed completely, but traffic will be down to one lane for both incoming and outgoing traffic at the Shiloh Gate. The inspections will take place between 0900 - 1100 and 1330 - 1530. From 0900-1100, they will be working in the in-bound lanes and they will be working in the out-bound lanes from 1330-1530. MLK LUNCHEON - RSVP BY TODAY
In an effort to continue building on the dream of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., there will be a MLK luncheon at the Scott Club on 20 Jan 2012 from 1130-1300. Retired CMSgt. Robert Dandridge will be the speaker for this event. Cost is $10.98 for Scott Club members and $12.98 for non-members. The deadline for registration is 12 Jan 2012. ACTIVITY DISTRIBUTION OFFICE TRAINING- 16 JAN

INFORMED DECISION SEMINAR - 17 JAN
The Informed Decision Seminar is mandatory for Air Force enlisted members with 12-15 months left on their first and second enlistment. The program offers airmen information on Air Force benefits, retention options, retraining, and other resources critical to those at this crossroad in their career. The program helps the member make an informed decision regarding their Air Force career. Spouses are welcome and encouraged to attend this event. INTRO TO RESILIENCE TRAINING - 18, 19 JAN
The Air Force Comprehensive Airman Fitness program is thriving at Scott Air Force Base and resilience is a key component. According to the Air Force Professional Development Guide Airmen we can become more "resilient" by reducing "self-defeating behaviors, feelings of hopelessness and despair ... and yield stronger, healthier, happier, more resilient Airmen and families who are better equipped to manage the rigors of 21st century military life." This course is an intense 8 hr program that will help the attendee put into practice every day skills that develop the core competencies associated with resilient Airman!

SEXUAL ASSAULT AWARENESS GUEST SPEAKER - 25 JAN
UNDERSTANDING CONSENT: Challenging Dynamics - Resilient Response 25 Jan @ 1015 GRPC and 1300 @ Base Theater. Anne Munch, JD., is a former prosecuting attorney of over 22 years who has dealt with many cases of sexual assault and violence against women. She is also the co-author of USAF Bystander Intervention Program and will be speaking to Scott leadership and installation Airmen on the challenging dynamics that are involved in sexual assault cases especially when trying to determine consent. NCO PROFESSIONAL ENHANCEMENT SEMINAR - 30 JAN
The primary objective of this seminar is to fill the professional military education gap between Airman Leadership School and the NCO Academy. Students will learn about enlisted heritage, mentoring, team building, professional writing skills and how to apply these principles learned in their job on a daily basis.

BYSTANDER INTERVENTION TRAINING: DEADLINE 1 MAY
Sexual Assault Bystander Intervention training is mandatory training for active duty Air Force personnel to include DoD civilians who supervise active duty Air Force. This training is required to be completed only once. (If you completed it in 2010 or 2011, you do not need to do it again) Training is offered at the Ed & Trng Bldg 1650 Rm 98 on TU, TH, and FRI. FREE OFFICE FURNITURE FROM 375 AES
Free used office furniture is now available to be claimed. The used office furniture will be turned-in to the DRMO in mid February 2012, if no takers. NEW SIGNOUT PROCEDURES FOR BASE THEATER/ROCKWELL HALL MICROPHONES
New handheld microphones and lapel microphones are available for sign-out for the Base Theater and Rockwell Hall from 375 CS/SCOT. The systems in both locations are limited a maximum of 2 microphones at a time (either 2 handheld/2 lapel or 1 handheld and 1 lapel microphone). For reservation request we need a POC/location/microphone requirements. Request for reservations can be emailed to 375.CS.SCOT@us.af.mil or call 256-8320.

PRODUCTIVITY ENHANCING CAPITAL INVESTMENT (PECI) PROGRAM
Commanders-do you need dollars for equipment purchases? The PECI program provides funding to purchase readily available off-the-shelf technology to improve combat readiness, enhance unit capability, and conserve resources. FASCAP is for capital equipment investments under $250K and requires MAJCOM approval. PIF is for equipment and facilities investments over $250K and requires Air Force approval.
