Help From Above in the Desert: Scott AFB & the Gulf War, 1990-1991
Unnamed 375th Combat Support Group member stacks sandbags to construct a bunker that would protect service members against the dreaded Iraqi SCUD missile attack. Scott Airmen spent the first several months of DESERT SHIELD building bases to support the thousands of US and coalition troops entering the Persian Gulf to stand against Saddam Hussein.
