Parker wins Diamond Sharp Award
Airman 1st Class Seth Parker, 375th Communications Squadron client systems technician, is this quarter’s winner of the Diamond Sharp Award. Parker has proven himself a vital member of the client systems center. Taking the lead, he quickly identified a faulty switch and manually re-added 141 computers to the network, restoring the U.S. Air Force Expeditionary Center that houses the 618th Air Operations Center’s disaster recovery site and pharmacy. In his pursuit for his Bachelor of Science degree in cybersecurity, he aced two CLEPS and is two classes from his Community College of the Air Force degree. As a pillar of the community and advocate of Mid America Cyber Patriots Camp, Parker instructed a five-day operating systems course stressing cybersecurity to 14 students. Finally, in preparation for Hurricane Harvey and Irma, he led a three-man team that fixed 25 issues and certified 114 systems at the crisis battle staff, enabling 24-hour command and control between 13 AMC bases, three Combatant Commands & the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
