The J-4 Jenny and Scott Air Force Base Celebrate 100 years of Service

Members of Friends of Jenny perform rountine maintenace on the J-4 Jenny, May, 4, 2017 at Bowling Green, Kentucky. Other than the fact it was the first training plane, in 1917 Congress made the largest single appropriation in the United States, 640 million dollars to build an Air Force because at that point there were around 32 airplanes, in which, 10 or 12 were serviceable.
