Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy remembered, celebrated

Brig. General Stacey Hawkins, Director of Logistics, Engineering and Force Protection, Headquarters Air Mobility Command, spoke about the impact Martin Luther King Jr. has had during Scott’s MLK Luncheon Jan. 12 in the Scott Event Center. He explained that Scott had segregated units in 1942 and that in 1948 President Harry Truman issued an executive order to end segregation in the Armed Forces.
