Scott AFB teams up with Alton VFW to present ‘Badge of Courage’ to 6-year-old boy

Firefighters from Fire Station 1 prepare to rescue Hayden Brown from a C-21 during his mission to help Batman find the Joker, Aug. 17, 2016, Scott Air Force Base, Ill. Scott AFB teamed up with Alton VFW 1308 and hosted Hayden as an honorary pilot for the day. Hayden Brown has a rare degenerative disease called Metachromatic Leukodystrophy, commonly referred to as MLD, and throughout this illness, he has shown tremendous courage and determination.
