Scott AFB honors, remembers MLK Jr.
Jacquetta Gray-Brown reads aloud a quote by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during the Martin Luther King luncheon Jan. 14, 2016 at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. Following his famous, “I Have a Dream” speech in August 1963 many northern states began to question the Jim Crow laws and treatment of African Americans. This resulted in the passing of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 which outlawed discrimination in publicly owned facilities. (U.S. Air Force photo/ Airman Daniel Garcia)
