ICE
Staff Sgt. Kelli Maldonado, 375th Medical Support Squadron Patient Administration NCOIC, is this week’s 375th Air Mobility Wing “Showcase on ICE.” She is known for successfully coordinating the largest patient movement effort since the closure of the Aeromedical Staging Facility in 2011. In was in 2013 when Staff Sgt. Taylor Savage, then-assigned to the 375th Medical Support Squadron, was injured by an explosion during a deployment. She underwent multiple surgeries before receiving treatment at a hospital in Minnesota, before being cleared to return to Scott Air Force Base. At that time, Maldonado orchestrated support events with Theater Patient Movement Center-Americas and Minnesota Air National Guard’s 133rd Operations Group, 210th Civil Engineers, 109th Aeromedical Squadron, 109th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, in order to bring her back to the base. Her herculean efforts were the catalyst that created a seamless patient movement and highlighted what it means to say “Together We Lift.” (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Kiana Brothers
