Senior Airman Anastasia Tompkins, 375th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs broadcast journalist, is this week’s 375th Air Mobility Wing “Showcase on ICE.” Senior Airman Tompkins is an excellent broadcaster who has displayed her skills and leadership during both her time here and while deployed to the Combined Task Force-Horn of Africa, where she was the sole broadcaster. She developed an innovative program to train photojournalists there how to capture broadcast video, thus increasing the amount of productions for the command by 300 percent. She documented an Ethiopian veterans conference that highlighted 200 joint medical professionals which helped to bolster East African partnerships, and also produced footage about the mission that aired on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. Back home she also developed several video projects for the Scott Facebook page, which has increased interaction with the public by 25 percent during February alone. She is also supportive of the base as a gate guard and Operation Warm Heart volunteer, and was recently named AMC’s Public Affairs Airman of the Year for 2015 for her work and outstanding leadership.
