New car wash on base
SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- Ashley Biggerstaff, Ariel Biggerstaff, Holly Biggerstaff and Col. Gary Goldstone, 375th Air Mobility Wing commander, stand at the entrance of the new Automatic Touchless Car Wash that the Arts and Crafts Center opened Friday. Colonel Goldstone presented Mrs. Biggerstaff with a plaque in honor of her husband, Emery Biggerstaff, who was instrumental in bringing the new car wash to Scott. He was the lead automotive mechanic at the Scott Auto Hobby shop since 1999 and passed away in 2009. Mr. Biggerstaff aggressively pushed the concept for installing a touchless car wash system in one of the four car wash bays behind the Arts and Crafts Center. The touchless car wash will be open for use year round, has three wash options available for purchase and is located directly behind the Arts and Crafts Center. For more information, call 256-4230.
