8 ton anchor moves into USTRANSCOM
SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- Workers from Surmeier and Surmeier, Inc, from Mascoutah, Ill., and Erlinger Crane Service from Lebanon, Ill., maneuver a 16,200 pound anchor from the USNS Paul Buck into a position July 22 at the U.S. Transportation Command Transportation Plaza. The USNS Paul Buck is one of five Champion class tankers built in 1985 for Military Sealift Command to carry fuel for the Department of Defense.
