Recruits get a taste of basic training

Staff Sgt. Michelle Charlie and Technical Sgt. Johnny Martinez, former Military Training Instructors, yell at Delayed Entry Program members during a mock training instructor drill on Scott Air Force Base, Ill Oct. 11. The 345th Recruiting Squadron scheduled the drill giving the future Airman an opportunity to experience basic training and ask questions. The Delayed Entry Program is a program allowing individuals to enlist in a Reserve or Inactive Component of a military service with a specified, future reporting date for entry on active duty. The 345th RCS covers a 118-thousand-square-mile area that includes central and southern Illinois, eastern Missouri, western Tennessee, Paducah, Kentucky, eastern Arkansas, and northern Mississippi.
