Scott Airman saves life with bone marrow donation
Staff Sgt. Casey Jensen, Airman Leadership School instructor, volunteered to donate bone marrow to a 28-year-old woman who was diagnosed with Chronic myelogenous leukemia March 29, 2012, at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington D.C. To extract the bone marrow, the doctors stuck a needle through his lower back into his pelvic bone and created 50 holes the size of the tip of a pen. (Courtesy photo)
