Answering the bark
Stephanie Carrier, a volunteer, cleans cages at the Spencer Kennel and Rescue September 28 in O'Fallon, Mo. Stephanie and her husband, U.S. Army Lt. Col. Christopher Carrier resuce animal on a regular basis. Since this interview, the Carriers are in the process of another adoption from Spencer kennels. The Pomeranian, used in the photos for this story, was abandoned at a truck stop in Arkansas and found by a truck driver.
