This week, Col. John D. Poole, 375th Air Mobility Command commander, conducted his final or “fini” flight as commander of the 375th Air Mobility Wing.

A fini flight marks a significant milestone. It’s a long-standing military tradition that honors the dedication, leadership, and service of commanders as they prepare to move on to their next chapter.

Moments after descending the staircase of the C-21, Poole was greeted by showers of water and champagne from his family, friends, fellow Airmen, and senior leaders across the installation.

Throughout his time in command, Col. Poole led the wing through mission-critical operations, readiness initiatives, and joint-service partnerships that advanced global mobility and strengthened the installation’s role as a premier platform for power projection.
