With the New Year well on its way, maybe some of you are still thinking about how to follow through with those 2014 resolutions. Let the Scott Clinic help you and your family. We are introducing two new programs: Group Lifestyle Balance and 5210 Let's Go.
Group Lifestyle Balance originates from the Diabetes Prevention Support Center's research out of the University of Pittsburg. The program is designed to support lifestyle changes that are proven to delay or prevent the onset of type-2 diabetes and heart issues.

So, if you are someone who wants to lose weight, reduce your overall health risk and needs a program that offers accountability, please give us a call. GLB is a weekly class that will be offered at three different times during the week; Tuesdays at noon, Wednesdays at 3 p.m., or Thursdays at 9 a.m. This gives you more opportunity to be successful in reaching your goals.

The class, 5210 Let's Go, is a nationally recognized childhood obesity prevention program. This program is designed to increase physical activity and healthy eating for children by educating and working with their parents on ways to incorporate and emphasize these lifestyle habits within the family. Classes will be offered to parents at the Scott Clinic, Child Development Centers, and Youth Center. Classes meet for 30 minutes for five weeks at these different times; Tuesdays at 4 p.m., Wednesdays at noon, or Thursdays at noon. They will be offered at three different times during the week to optimize successful completion and those parents that complete all five sessions will receive a 5210 Let's Go Cookbook.

If you would like more information or are interested in signing up contact Christine Cooley at 256-7869 for Group Lifestyle Balance, or contact Julie Pena at 256-7085 for 5210 Let's Go.
