Executing the mission

Last week, Air Mobility Command released a new mission statement...Providing global air mobility - right effects, right place, right time. The statement does not identify a new command mission but rather expresses more fully AMC's contributions to the Air Force's mission to fly, fight and win.

To achieve its mission, AMC refined its focus areas to the following:
Win today's fight as part of the joint/coalition forces
Develop and care for our Airmen and families
Enhance nuclear mission support
Optimize mobility partnerships
Prepare mobility forces for the future
For the Airmen of the 375th Airlift Wing, it is important to understand how the wing's mission aligns with AMC's new mission statement and how we will execute the five focus areas.

The 375th AW's mission to Enable Combat Power is achieved by meeting three objectives -- to Provide Unrivaled Distinguished Visitor and Patient Airlift, to Provide Superior Support and Service and to Provide Combat Ready Airmen.

Regardless of position or career specialty, every member of the 375th AW team has a vital role in accomplishing one or more of these objectives. It is imperative every Airman understands his or her role and how it supports the mission. Each 375th AW Airman should be able to articulate and complete the following statement: I enable combat power by...

In the coming weeks, wing leadership will meet with 375th AW Airmen to further discuss the wing's specific mission objectives and how the 375th AW will vigorously pursue AMC's focus areas as well as 18th Air Force's mission and vision. Every 375th AW Airman is encouraged to take an active role in these discussions by asking question, providing feedback and truly thinking about how he Enables Combat Power.

It is important that every Airman take the time to read the commentary by AMC commander General Arthur Lichte that explains the command's new mission statement and focus areas to ensure these discussions are effective. Think about how you and your unit support the AMC's mission by Enabling Combat Power.

Every Airman is responsible for a key piece of the mission. In order to achieve mission success, every Airman must know what their respective role is and how it ensures mission success at home station or deployment location, as a member of the Air Force team and as critical members of the joint team.

Mission success is not possible without the efforts of every Airman. Thanks for all you do! Happy Holidays. AIR POWER!
