Match Up benefits the base Published June 24, 2009 By Col. Gary Goldstone 375th Airlift Wing commander SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- Two weeks ago, Air Mobility Command's Match Up program started and, as of this week, Team Scott is ranked number six amongst its 12 wings. Sometimes being in the middle isn't a bad thing but this isn't one of those occasions. Match Up's Base Race allows all AMC bases to compete for monetary prizes to be used towards morale, welfare, and recreation programs. The AMC base who meets and exceeds their goal of number of registered players the most wins. Added to the Base Race grand prize are monthly $1,000 prizes in July and August for the highest, single day registration total. AMC's MatchUp is one easy way to win easy money. Healthy competition between our fellow Airmen across AMC is just one way to build teamwork and camaraderie. And, the prize money goes right back into real improvements here at your base. Team Scott, I need you and your family members to join me and play AMC's MatchUp! In addition to helping the base secure the grand prize, all registered players have the chance to win individual prizes from cash awards to a dream vacation. EVERY Team Scott member is eligible to play - active duty, Guard, Reserve, Department of Defense civilians, retirees, and family members. It takes two MatchUp game pieces to register and one game piece is free (enter code 9999-2009-999). Winning prizes is really nice but there is more to the game than that. MatchUp gives you the opportunity to discover Scott's many quality of life programs and services. Did you know, for example, concierge service is available at Information, Tickets, & Travel? This free service is personalized to the individual's interest whether it is planning the family's summer vacation or learning where to go in the local area for water skiing. Do you want to learn a foreign language? The base library can help any AMC library user, to include family members, civilians, and contractors, gain access to the Rosetta Stone on-line language learning program. Do you love coffee? There are two Starbucks locations on base. One is inside Pronto's Pizza, which also offers Cheesecake Factory goodies, and the other is at the Cardinal Creek Golf Course Cafe. Our mission is to Enable Combat Power. One way we do that is by providing superior support and service. This superior support and service isn't just for our wounded warriors traveling through or our distinguished visitors. It is for you, the Team Scott community, to make your assignment at Scott your best assignment. I do enjoy a challenge and taking the AMC Base Race lead would be awesome. Truth be told, though, it is more important for every Team Scott member to know our service facilities and to take advantage of what they have to offer. If the MatchUp program inspires the Team Scott community to take a fresh look at these facilities, we win regardless of the final tally. Get out there, explore, and play MatchUp along the way. Air Power!
