Our Airmen are truly Showcase! Published Feb. 15, 2012 By Col. Mike Hornitschek 375th Air Mobility Wing commander SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- It's time for another round of congratulations to some of our amazing Showcase performers who were recognized by their peers as outstanding customer service agents of the wing! I'm always enthusiastic about recognizing these teammates because what they do every day makes our mission--and our lives--much smoother ... and more enjoyable. These men and women are the examples of "Service Above Self:" · Master Sgt. Susan Hale, Airman and Family Readiness NCO in charge, continually seeks ways to offer Showcase support. Whether it's choreographing a mother's participation in her daughter's retirement ceremony via a VTC or enabling a retired member's ability to obtain emergency funding for a disabled child! Thanks for your timely assistance and personal touch. · Tech. Sgt. Robert Kilburn, a shift supervisor with the 375th Communications Support Squadron, displayed his "can do" attitude during a recent comm systems outage. He promptly got a hold of everyone involved and insisted on a prompt fix before it negatively impacted flight operations. His quick and decisive actions ensured we kept Enabling Combat Power! · Lt. Col. Tammy Lindsay, 375th Medical Support Squadron, recently helped a patient with complex medical issues by coordinating with all of the patient's specialists to ensure proper care, and even returned a telephone consult request late in the evening to follow up. Her patient was quoted as saying, "I doubt very seriously that my family could receive better care elsewhere." In fact, I'm sure you can't find better care than with our very own team here! · Senior Airman Tobi Wagner, a passenger service agent with the 375th Logistics Readiness Squadron, aided a passenger on emergency leave in true Showcase fashion. The passenger was not able to use the Space A system so Airman Wagner helped him research a commercial flight option, and then because of the timing, drove the customer to the airport in his personal car to ensure there would be no delays. That's just amazing to me because I know if I needed help, I could find it right here! · Senior Airman Talia Fulgham, an airfield management operations coordinator with the 375th Operations Support Squadron, is the first and last person most flightline visitors see on their visits here. She recently coordinated after-hours maintenance support for a stranded F-18. Her efforts to provide a seamless maintenance operation ensured the deploying aircrew continued their mission with minimal delays. She also coordinated the early departure of a DV by taking sole responsibility over a vehicle turn, which allowed the aircrew to begin their preflight responsibilities--keeping everyone on schedule. Thank you for what you do! I'm continually impressed with the caliber of men and women here, and am humbled to be part of your team. Keep up the great work!
