The American Red Cross Summer Youth Program at Scott is a great opportunity for teens to see how the “real world” works and often provides them guidance for the future.
The Youth Program offers a “win-win” scenario for both work sections as well as the youth volunteers.
During the summer, several offices and clinics experience understaffing due to leaves, vacations, as well as deployments. In several instances, youth volunteers help fill those voids. The youth volunteer positions range from answering phones in offices to assisting Pharmacy Technicians in the clinic and numerous other positions.
Program volunteers must have access to Scott AFB and be 14-18 years old. There is a strong request for teens aged 16 and above. Space is limited to the first 25, thus the volunteer positions will be filled on a first come first serve basis.
The program will run from June 5-July 28. Orientation is scheduled for May 24. For additional details, please contact the Scott AFB Red Cross Office at 256-3292.
