9/11 REVEILLE Published Sept. 14, 2016 375th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- On a rainy Sept. 9, Team Scott honored Patriot Day with a 41-person formation for Reveille in front of the 375th Air Mobility Wing building where Col. Laura Lenderman, 375th Air Mobility Wing commander, spoke. “In honor of Patriot’s Day, Scott AFB took a moment for remembrance, gratitude, and reflection,” she said. “We remember the tragedy of Sept. 11, and we honor over 3,000 men, women, and children who lost their lives during the attacks that day. We also thank those who have served our country before, during, and after the attacks on Sept. 11, and we thank our brothers and sisters in arms who paid the ultimate sacrifice and gave their lives to ensure tyranny and evil would not prevail in the days, weeks, months, and years since Sept. 11. We also reflect on the fact that as we continue to find our way through the tragedy of that fateful day, we choose to be courageous; we choose to be strong; and we choose to stand together. By doing so, we show the world that we are stronger together, and that together, nothing is impossible.” In addition to the formation, hundreds more Scott AFB members gathered to witness the event. Following Reveille, the base held a 5K run in remembrance of the Sept. 11 attacks.
