Railroad construction to close roads, gates on base Published Aug. 3, 2016 375th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- Norfolk Southern Railway will be making essential repairs to the railroad crossings on or near Scott Air Force Base this month. A summary of the impacts is below and attached: Phase 1. 8 Aug: South Drive closed (southeast of the runway, near the waste water treatment plant) 2. 8 - 10 Aug: Superior Street closed (south of the runway, near the "Lemon Lot") 3. 9 - 11 Aug: Ward Drive closed. Patriots Landing Gate open for inbound and outbound traffic (24 hrs) and Old Mascoutah Gate open for inbound traffic (0600-0800) to accommodate closure. Phase 2 4. 15 - 17 Aug: Belleville Gate closed and Patriots Landing Gate open for inbound and outbound traffic (0530-2200) and Old Mascoutah Gate open for inbound traffic (0600-0800) and outbound traffic (1530-1730) There will be temporary gate openings at Patriots Landing and Old Mascoutah during this timeframe, and plans are to make that as efficient as possible, but please anticipate that this new traffic pattern may cause delays.
