To help St. Louis prepare for the holiday season, members of the 375th Operations Support Squadron volunteered to stock and organize at the St. Louis Area Food Bank Nov. 22 in St. Charles, Mo.

Thirteen members of the 375th OSS, along with volunteers from other local businesses, worked to bag and crate apples so the St. Louis Food Bank would be ready to distribute to impoverished communities throughout the holidays.

Hayley Bradley, a community volunteer, said, "It's an amazing opportunity to work alongside servicemembers and do our part to give back together."

DJ Finnegan, St. Louis Area Food Bank volunteer coordinator, said, "We rely on volunteers like the 375th OSS to help us all year long. We appreciate this help as the amount of volunteers we coordinate would be equivalent to 27 full time employees."

This is just one of the many outreach efforts coordinated by the 375 OSS.

Airman 1st Class Sarah Haynes, the squadron's community outreach organizer, said, "Our first month we spent time talking to veterans, and this is another great opportunity for us to show our support for the community."

The 375th OSS looks to continue its outreach in December through a Mitten Tree Drive where they will collect hats, scarves and gloves to deliver to local schools.

Lt. Col. Matthew Vann, 375th OSS director of operations, said, "These are important opportunities that we look to continue doing. Our Airmen enjoy going out into the communities and helping those in need."
