Tree lighting, Trees for Troops event is Dec. 3 Published Nov. 27, 2013 By Staff Sgt. Maria Bowman 375th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- The Scott Club is hosting the Scott Air Force Base Family Holiday Party Tuesday from 4-6:30 p.m. to kick-off the holiday season with a family-friendly event. "In past years, the tree lighting and tree giveaway were separate events," said Capt. Mallory Malda, Family Holiday Party committee lead. "The idea this year was to combine these events and bring Team Scott together for one big party. There are a lot of people working hard to make this an awesome event, and I look forward to a great turnout." During the party, Santa and Mrs. Claus will make an appearance, there will be refreshments available, and live music by the U.S. Air Force Band of Mid-America. The annual tree lighting will occur at 4:30 p.m. and it will be visible from inside the club ballroom. Trees for Troops will be in attendance at the party to distribute trees to Team Scott members and their families. The tree giveaway will occur at the enlisted-side parking lot of Scott Club. To get a tree you must get a tree ticket inside the Corporal Scott Room of the Scott Club. Tickets to select your free tree will be distributed starting at 4 p.m., and priority will be given to personnel in the grades of E1-E4. For more information contact Capt. Mallory Malda at 256-5051, or 1st Lt. Vince Semaan at 256-6383.
