Scott uses cameras for PT tests Published July 30, 2014 By Senior Airman Jake Eckhardt 375th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- The Scott Fitness Assessment Cell, or FAC, recently installed six video cameras in the James Sports Center's physical testing room. Gailyn Gonzales, 375th Force Support Squadron director of fitness and sports, said, "Both the James Sports Center and Fitness Center have been monitored by surveillance cameras for safety and security purposes. The installation of the cameras in the testing room is simply a tool that allows the FAC to eliminate much of the human factor and potential errors; and is a way to streamline the appeal process and potentially mitigate incorrect data from becoming official record." In efforts to maintain the privacy of all testers, the footage can only be viewed by the leadership of members that have submitted official appeals packages, due to a failure of one or both of the muscular components, or at the request of the wing commander. Additionally, the footage can be used as a learning tool for FAC members for reviewing correct and incorrect forms and procedures during official PT testing. Staff Sgt. Emmanuel Lockhart, 375th FSS FAC NCOIC, said "We haven't had too many instances where we have had to use them, but when we do, they help greatly. Our mission is to ensure each test is administered with integrity and the upmost professionalism. We've had fewer disputes, and receive great feedback about our FAC members and the testing process as a whole."
