Centered--Chapel hosting introductory Labyrinth Lunch Published Oct. 9, 2014 By Senior Airman Jake Eckhardt 375th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- The 375th Air Mobility Wing Chapel will host a "Labyrinth Lunch" Oct. 17 beginning at 11:30 a.m. in Chapel One. The purpose behind the event is to help the participants strengthen their spirituality while helping them to find their purpose. Lt. Col. Christine Blice-Baum, 375th Air Mobility Wing chaplain, said, "By realizing that you have a purpose, it gives you hope. A sense of hope is something that keeps you grounded, and this event is just another avenue to explore what your purpose is." Participants of the event will walk slowly on a 24-by-24 foot canvas following a path that twists and turns until they reach the middle. Everything is quiet while they are on their roughly 20 minute "journey," so they can clear their head and focus on what is important to them. "There is something about going through the labyrinth that quiets the mind," she said. "We are constantly being bombarded by everything that is required of us that you really don't get a chance to step back and ask 'Why am I here.'" The event is open to anyone, regardless if the person associates with a specific religion or not. The chapel also provides many other avenues to improve spirituality and resiliency such as confidential counseling, worship services and meditation groups. There is also a meditation room available to everyone. For more information on Chapel events visit www.facebook.com/amcscottchapel.
