Team Scott members teamed up to complete 24-hours of consecutive running during the Air Force Sergeants Association's annual vigil run Nov. 7- 8.

The AFSA's Vigil Run has a tremendous and deep meaning to the chapter as we are all military veterans," said Master Sgt. Eduard Dedousis, AFSA's chair.

"It is another chance to come together as a military and civilian community to honor those who have worn the uniform in service to our great nation and who have all sacrificed in the performance of that service. For 24-hours, as we moved the U.S. flag and POW/MIA banner around the track, we cement our commitment to those who have served before us, our commitment to those who we service with today."

This year's remembrance run was held in honor of retired Tech. Sgt. William Wymore, a native of St. Louis. He attended the event to light the vigil candle and observe the opening and closing dedication. As a transportation specialist, he served in Iraq before being separated and granted 100 percent disability. The participants ran or walked for 30 minute time-slots and leaders set the pace carrying the U.S. and POW/MIA flags.

AFSA members made up the first and last groups of runners. Col. Kyle Kremer, 375th Air Mobility Wing Commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Wesley Mathias, 375th AMW Command Chief, walked the first lap with Wymore and his family.

"It was very motivating to hear the names of all who have served while running and carrying the flag around the track," said Airman 1st Class Jason Stonehocker, a participant from the 375th Communications Support Squadron. "It makes you not want to stop, knowing what all the names."
