Two Team Scott Airmen were each awarded $250 scholarships recently from the Scott Company Grade Officers Council to help pay for college expenses.

The CGOC is an organization focused on professional development, networking, and community service
.
The scholarship nominees were selected based on their individual and academic data, school and community involvement, and awards and recognition. Winners of this scholarship are chosen because of their hard work and commitment to progressing themselves through education.

Col. Gregory Green, 375th Air Mobility Wing Vice Commander, and Capt. Mossaab Benhammou, representing CGOC, surprised the winners with a check during a visit to their work place.

The scholarship recipients are: Senior Airman Tichinia Searcy, 618th Air and Space Operations Center (Tanker Airlift Control Center) Weather Forecaster, and Senior Airman Demarcus Leachman, 375th Communications Support Squadron.

Leachman is planning to use his scholarship to purchase books for the upcoming spring semester in January.

"Receiving this scholarship meant a lot to me," said Leachman. "I felt honored that I was being recognized for my efforts. Most importantly, I especially appreciated the fact that Col. Green took the time out of his day to personally present me with the scholarship."

Leachman is currently pursuing his Bachelor's Degree in health care administration. He is also finishing his prerequisites for medical school, which he hopes to attend in the future.

The scholarship was open to any in the ranks of E-1 through E-4 currently enrolled in college classes in an approved curriculum toward an associate's or bachelor's degree.

"Our goal as a CGOC is committed to the promotion of the general welfare of our military community," said 2nd Lt. Thomas Munson. "Supporting motivated Airmen in their educational pursuits falls directly in line with our organization's goals."
