In the challenge, teams of two to five people compete against each other for a prize. The prize goes to the team that has the highest percentage of weight loss as a team and as an individual. "This gives people that extra motivation to lose weight and stay in shape as we go into the new year," said Melissa Edmiston, 375th Medical Group Disease Management Contractor. "The idea of doing it as a team builds accountability and camaraderie." More than 200 people are participating in the event. Master Sgt. Mark Lorenzo, 375th Communications Support Squadron Flight Chief, said, "It's a good way to jump start the new year. This will help us establish a goal to our routine. I hope to lose about 20 pounds by the end of the challenge."
