Outdoor Recreation opened the Fitness Center Pool on May 23. This year, admission to the pool will be free of cost. The facility is open to Department of Defense card holders and their guests.

Recreational swimming is Monday through Friday from 1 to 6 p.m. On Saturday, Sunday and holidays the pool is open for swimming from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. Adult lap swim is Monday through Friday from 6 to 7 a.m. and the pool will have two dedicated lap lanes.

Military personnel can receive swim lessons for free. Pricing for swimming lessons for all others can be obtained from Outdoor Recreation by calling 256-2067. For all swim lessons, individuals will be evaluated at their first lesson and then placed in the appropriate class for their ability.

In addition to lessons, the pool will offer swim teams, pool parties and the cardboard boat regatta. The pool will also support many youth activities and day camps.

Garry Green, 375th Force Support Squadron Outdoor Recreation, said there are many improvements to the pool area patrons can take advantage of this year including large permanent umbrellas for shade and lounge chairs.
