Scott AFB Airman killed in Afghanistan

The Department of Defense announced today the deaths of two Airmen who were supporting Operation Freedom's Sentinel who died Oct. 11 in the crash of a British Puma Mk2 helicopter in Kabul, Afghanistan.

Killed were Master Sgt. Gregory T. Kuhse, 38, of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Maj. Phyllis J. Pelky, 45, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico. 

Kuhse was assigned to the 3rd Manpower Requirements Squadron at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois.  Pelky was assigned to the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
