375th AES earns AMC Readiness Award Published Feb. 3, 2016 By Senior Airman Joshua Eikren 375th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- The 375th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron's Readiness Team was selected by the Air Mobility Command Surgeon General to receive the AMC Outstanding Medical Readiness Team Award for 2015. Their accomplishments include leading the Air Force's largest AES readiness posture with 3,000 missions and 4,400 patients evacuated. "Our section is one of the highest ops tempo readiness shops in the Aeromedical Evacuation community," said Caguitla. "We deployed 60 of 117 assigned squadron members this past year." The Readiness Element managed 40 deployment teams, which consisted of 34 personnel and six equipment packages worth $1.5 million. Additionally, their office performed critical support functions such as security management, anti-terrorism program management, Information Systems Support (IAO), Emergency Management and the unit's Self-Assessment Program. "All of this was made possible by the dedication and commitment of our team members," said Caguitla. "While our readiness team looks rather robust, there was a period of almost six months where we only had four of the 10 members physically working in our section, and they continued to pull-off multiple exercises and inspections with zero major or critical findings." Looking forward, AES aims to continue readiness as they focus on training with new members and improvements to their facility. "We hope to continue with fine-tuning our processes and developing a training program that helps maintain continuity once our team begins to PCS and PCA," said Caguitla. "Additionally, we are partnering with our ground training element to create squadron level hands-on training programs that allow our personnel to realistically train how they would deploy in a new environment."
