Please be advised that the fuel pumps at the Scott AFB Express (Building 1640) are currently closed after water was detected in two of the fuel storage tanks. It is believed that the contaminated fuel entered the tanks during a routine contracted fuel delivery Monday, Feb. 29, at 1 p.m. The issue was detected at 2:19 p.m. and the pumps were immediately shut down. Customers who purchased fuel during this time and believe their vehicle may have been affected can contact the Express Facility Manager,  Sharon Cullen at 618-744-9245 or 9253.

"Drivers can be assured that we are moving forward with an abundance of caution to thoroughly clean the entire fuel dispensing system.  This ensures that when the pumps reopen they will not be any issues with the quality of the fuel we provide to the Scott Community." said Ralph Kleemann, Scott AFB Exchange General Manager.

The Exchange is working with the Installation and the fuel supplier to solve this situation quickly and sincerely apologizes for the inconvenience to the Scott community.
