SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- The 375th Air Mobility Wing welcomed its new commander, Col. Christopher M. Robinson, during a change of command ceremony today held at Hangar 1.

Presiding over the ceremony was Maj. Gen. Thad Bibb Jr., 18th Air Force commander,  and relinquishing command was Col. J. Scot Heathman, who will now serve as the 18th AF vice commander.

In his first speech as the 375th AMW commander, Robinson said, “I want you to know that I see my role here as making sure that you have the training, education, and the resources to be better, faster, stronger and smarter than I ever was. We will be combat ready when we are called. To do this, we must embody our core values of Integrity First, Service Before Self and Excellence in All We Do. [And] we also must be bold. We must take smart risks, and we must be creative. You are the Showcase Wing for a reason, and I'm proud to serve you.”

He received his commission from the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 1999. He is also a career pilot, having flown the C-130 Hercules and C-17 Globemaster platforms and logged over 2800 hours. As a dual rated aviator, he served in a variety of positions at the Squadron, Wing, Major Command and Headquarters Air Force level, as well as Combatant Command.

Prior to his command, Robinson served as the vice commander at the 437th Airlift Wing, Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina. He also served at Scott previously from 2014 to 2019 both working for U.S. Transportation Command and Air Mobility Command with a deployment to Qatar inbetween.

Robinson joins Team Scott alongside his wife, Stephanie, and children, Wyatt, Matthew, Katherine and George. He said his family is excited to be back in this area and looking forward to reconnecting with old friends.

As commander of the 375th AMW, Robinson is responsible for more than 3,100 personnel, 36 additional mission partners, 140 geographically separated units, 43 flag officers and $4.5 million in assets which provide aeromedical evacuation, operational support airlift and aerial refueling to ensure the nation’s global reach.
