Scott AFB lockdown incident summary - Sept. 23 Published Sept. 23, 2020 375th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. - Scott AFB Security Forces personnel apprehended a male suspect who was believed to pose a threat, which necessitated a temporary lockdown for the base. Security Forces received a call around 2:30 p.m. today from the Velda Police Department about an Air Force veteran with prior convictions who was believed to be armed and possibly dangerous. Security forces located and apprehended the subject without incident and the subject will be turned over to local authorities. An investigation is ongoing. We are proud of our Defenders for their professional response to ensure the safety of our people and the installation.
