Notice of Availability - Draft Environmental Assessment for Qatar Emiri Air Force F-15QA Training, MidAmerica Airport, Illinois Published Feb. 25, 2020 375th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs The Air Force announces the availability of and invites public comments on the draft environmental assessment for Qatar Emiri Air Force F-15QA training at MidAmerica Airport. The draft environmental assessment addresses the potential impacts resulting from the temporary (up to one year) construction of facilities and the operation of up to six F-15QA aircraft from MidAmerica Airport. Qatar is purchasing F-15QA aircraft through the U.S. Foreign Military Sales program and requested that a small number of pilots be trained in the United States. The U.S. Air Force is supporting this request to temporarily train and operate the new F-15QA aircraft from MidAmerica Airport. FAA charted and approved special use airspace in Illinois, Missouri and Arkansas would be temporarily used for aircraft operations. The Air Education Training Command would lead this temporary mission. Qatar student pilots would be trained at MidAmerica Airport by U.S. instructor pilots, but no changes to any of the organizations at Scott AFB would occur. The public is invited to review the draft environmental assessment and provide comments. The public comment period extends from Feb. 28 to March 29, 2020.
