Commander of the 932nd Airlift Wing, Col. Glenn Collins, fourth from left, made a visit to the Airman Leadership School on June 11, 2019, at Scott Air Force Base, Ill.  He and Chief Master Sgt. Darren Wiseman (fifth from left), the 932nd Inspector General Superintendent, spoke to a packed room of future non-commissioned officers regarding leading by example, and taking care of their units.

The talk began with a look at the Air Force core values. These values have deep roots in the Air Force dating back to 1948.

Speaking from his own experiences Wiseman noted, "I wanted to ensure they understood how the core values are timeless and interconnected to our behaviors, morals, and ethics.

"The core values are the foundations of our leadership development.  Furthermore, the values encourage leadership principles such as know your job, know yourself, set the example, care for people, communicate, educate, equip, motivate, accept your responsibility, and develop teamwork," said Wiseman.

"These principles transcend all types of individual differences in the Air Force.  We are one Air Force when we identify with our common foundation. This foundation is our core values.  Being able to speak from experience enabled an honest approach and common ground with the future leaders of the Air Force, Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve," Wiseman added.

The program will help these Airmen prepare for strategic depth and readiness challenges, as well looking for ways to reform their units and improve effectiveness.  The program concluded with a dinner and graduation ceremony on June 20, 2019 which included certificates presented by the two leaders.
