Scott Hosts Pack 21 Pinewood Derby

Pack 21 Cub Scouts and their family members gather around the Pinewood Derby racetrack and eagerly wait for a heat to cross the finish line Feb. 2, 2019, at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. Cars raced in sets of four and the winner of each heat moved on to the next round until an ultimate winner was found. The overall winner for the cubs was Jackson Rice and for the Girl Scouts was Paisley Robertson. Travis Few, Pack 21 Cub Scout cub master, uses a drill press to drill a hole down the center of a wooden car the night before the Pinewood Derby, Feb. 1, 2019, at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. Metal weights were dropped into the hole to add weight to the car to make it go faster during race day. There were guidelines each person had to follow when making their car.
