With the fast-paced long working hours base personnel have had in the past months, it seems just about the perfect time to sit down – or run – with co-workers and talk about the situations that are easily forgotten under the ops tempo stress.

Team Scott will dedicate a day to being a Wingman Monday. The morning will consist of group, squadron, or flight level events focused around improving Wingman skills.

“I encourage everyone to take part of this important day dedicated to take care of each other,” said Col. Raymond Rottman, 375th Airlift Wing commander. “While we cannot ‘fix’ everything in the work environment, we can give each issue serious consideration and do what we can to remove the barriers we can and then see if we can ‘think outside the box’ to find a work-around to those barriers we cannot remove.”

Displays and stations will be set-up in Hangar 1 from noon to 2 p.m., these include Life Skills, fire safety, the Health and Wellness Center and Armed Forces Against Drunk Driving among others.

Following the displays, there will be a Commander’s Call, which will begin at 2 p.m. in Hanger 1.

Participants in the “Run the Runway Run,” a 3.5-mile run around the flightline, should form up by the gate near the fire department on Hangar Rd. by 3 p.m.

The last Wingman Day observed by the wing was May 3, prior to the 101 Critical Days of Summer. Wingman Days target issues like safety, suicide prevention and work ethics.
