Cheers and applause filled the room as the Air Force Inspection Agency announced the 375th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron earned an "Outstanding" rating on their Health Services Inspection Jan. 9 through 12.

"An outstanding rating is rare, but it reflects the hard work and dedication of the members in the unit," said Col. Barbara Johnston, AFIA inspector and inspection team chief.

The programs and processes maintained throughout the 375th AES track the day-to-day mission requirements and deployment preparedness of all its members, who are Air and Space Expeditionary Force enablers that can be tasked to deploy at anytime to anywhere in the world.

"This rating is proof that we are fulfilling our mission and setting the benchmark within the Air Force Smart Operations 21 concept," said Col. Diane Fletcher, 375th AES commander. "The inspection team recognized that we've leaned forward in streamlining our processes - which ultimately makes our mission more successful."

The inspection team also recognized Capt. Joseph Thomas, Capt. Wendy Chapman, 1st Lt. Kevin Hammond and Staff Sgt. Tyson Jackson for outstanding performance in accomplishing, and exceeding expectations, within their aeromedical evacuation mission roles.

The inspection is conducted to assess required performance in graded areas including readiness and medical care as well as the effectiveness and efficiency of medical management.

The data gathered provides senior leaders an independent assessment of health care programs Air Force-wide, in addition to information that is used in forming future policy decisions.

The inspection agency is the only Air Force unit that conducts Health Services Inspections on all Air Force medical facilities including active duty, Guard and Reserve.

"The inspection shows that we are providing the best possible healthcare to our war-fighters - on time, every time," said Col. Al Hunt, 375th Airlift Wing commander. "It also shows that all members of the 375th AES are well prepared to do their part in supporting operations worldwide."
