For many Airmen, the words O'Fallon, Mascoutah and Belleville are not just the names of surrounding cities names but the names of their homes.

O'Fallon, Mascoutah and Belleville halls formerly known as 1810, 1820 and 1830 all have had a number of improvements over the last year and still have many more to come.

"About a year ago is when we really started to update the dorms," said Master Sgt. Tracy Bozarth-Larouche, dorm superintendent. "We added fitness equipment in the laundry room and also put in new carpet, blinds and furniture in the TV lounge."

Along with these improvements, some more recent upgrades includ updating each hall's day room with different themes.

"We are using the campus concept making each day room into a different theme," said Sergeant Bozarth-Larouche. "By making each room a different theme, it makes Airman go to different day rooms to use the different stuff, which will promote meeting new people in other halls not just there own."

O'Fallon Hall's day room has a sports lounge theme with pool tables, sports themed decorations, basketball and football games.

"Pretty soon we're putting up three flat screen TVs over the mail boxes to complete the whole sports lounge theme," said Tech. Sgt. Edwin Smith, O'Fallon Hall dorm manager.
Mascoutah Hall has been decorated with a tiki bar, flat screen TV, skee-ball, football and new furniture.

"For Belleville Hall, we plan on putting in a cyber café and a stadium-style seating theater," said Sergeant Bozarth-Larouche.

Some other upcoming dorm improvements include putting in a basketball court, wood furniture outside, barbecue grills and new common area kitchen items for all halls.

"Along with the many improvements that we are currently working towards, we always try to get inputs from residents," said Sergeant Bozarth-Larouche.

Making Mascoutah, O'Fallon and Belleville Hall into a more modernized and enjoyable places to live has been an ongoing process, which will continue into the future.
