JTF Scott fatality free summer Published Sept. 10, 2007 By Airman 1st Class Brian Butkus 375th Airlift Wing Public Affairs SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- The 101 Critical Days of Summer officially ended Monday and Joint Total Force Team Scott finished it off the way it started zero fatalities. To help prevent Joint Total Force Scott members during these crucial times in the summer the 375th Airlift Wing Safety office was out in full force to help educate personnel. "We were able to educate personnel during the 101 Critical Days of Summer by going out and meeting personnel and family members where they are," said Marilee Reuter, 375th AW Safety Office, ground safety manager. "Meeting with people in person makes safety approachable and allows them to ask questions of safety personnel without having to find our number and make a phone call." Throughout the summer the safety office was on hand at various events to showcase their various areas of expertise. "We set up safety information booths at the Base Exchange, the base picnic and different organizations around the base," said Mrs. Reuter. "Our goal was to reach Scott personnel and family members with summer safety information." The booths provided information on safe camping, boating, swimming, fitness, sunburn prevention and DUI prevention. With safety as a high priority Scott ended a fun and safe summer with zero casualties.
