Practice makes perfect Published Sept. 10, 2007 By Airman 1st Class Brian Butkus 375th Airlift Wing Public Affairs SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- The countdown has begun for 375th Airlift Wing personnel. The Unit Compliance Inspection begins Sept. 17 and runs through Sept. 24. Units should be ensuring their self insepction checklists are fully complete, and that they have no "not-in-compliance" areas on these checklists. "The UCI is similar to an open book test," said Lt. Col. Michael Wahler, 375th Plans and Programs commander. "We already know exactly what the inspectors are going to look at and what questions they are going to ask." According to Colonel Wahler, throughout the UCI inspectors will be looking for 100 percent compliance with all self-inspections checklists. In addition to checking for checklist compliance, the wing will execute an emergency management exercise during the inspection. The IG will be observing the 375th AW personnel's response to the scenario, and will also evaluate the Exercise Evaluation Team. Adding his words of advice to the 375th AW Colonel Wahler adds, "Everybody needs to just perform to the best of their abilities and we will do fine. Mistakes are bound to happen; when one does correct it and move on." Throughout the inspection tenants may notice some differences in day-to-day activities. There will be no adverse effects to any of our customer service organizations. For more information on the UCI, call Charley Mills at 256-3016 or Colonel Wahler at 256-3513.
