AMC honors top enlisted Airmen

SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. --  Twelve of Air Mobility Command's finest enlisted men and women were honored during the AMC Outstanding Airmen and First Sergeant of the Year ceremony at Scott Air Force Base April 3.

"These incredible Airmen have gone above and beyond in their contributions to the command and it is an honor to join them as we toast their outstanding service - service that is not only a testament to all mobility Airmen but also forms the foundation for the greatest Air Force in the world today," said Gen. Arthur J. Lichte, AMC commander.

This year's finalists were selected among nearly 46,000 active-duty enlisted servicemembers assigned throughout the command. Each Airman has already competed at their respective squadron, group and wing levels in order to be considered for AMC's top enlisted award.

More than 50 nomination packages were received, and a panel of AMC command chiefs and group superintendents had the responsibility of whittling that number down to 12 - representing AMC's finalists.

From there, the finalists met a personal appearance board and were further evaluated based on their leadership, job performance, self-improvement initiative, and base and community involvement.

One Airman is selected from each category to compete alongside representatives from other major commands for the title as one of the Air Force's 12 Outstanding Airmen of the Year.

The AMC finalists are listed below. Winners, and competitors at the Air Force level, are noted in itallics. 


Airman Category 

Senior Airman Matthew Hughley is a vehicle operations journeyman assigned to the 43rd Logistics Readiness Squadron at Pope AFB, N.C. 

Senior Airman April Robinson is a laboratory technician assigned to the 22nd Medical Support Squadron at McConnell AFB, Kan. 

Senior Airman Mark Walker is an explosive ordnance disposal technician assigned to the 62nd Civil Engineer Squadron at McChord AFB, Wash. 


NCO Category 

Tech. Sgt. James Caughron is a fire protection craftsman assigned to the 22nd Civil Engineer Squadron at McConnell AFB, Kan. 

Tech. Sgt. Tammy Roth is a public health craftsman assigned to the 305th Medical Group at McGuire AFB, N.J. 

Staff Sgt. Brian Logan is an operator records and licensing NCO in charge assigned to the 6th Logistics Readiness Squadron at MacDill AFB, Fla. 


Senior NCO Category 

Senior Master Sgt. Joel Molloseau is a maintenance superintendent assigned to the 19th Maintenance Squadron at Robins AFB, Ga. 

Master Sgt. Jeffrey Hurley is an explosive ordnance disposal superintendent assigned to the 436th Civil Engineer Squadron at Dover AFB, Del. 

Master Sgt. Keith Turney is a flight operations NCO in charge assigned to the 6th Security Forces Squadron at MacDill AFB, Fla. 


First Sergeant Category 

Senior Master Sgt. David Fish is a first sergeant assigned to the 62nd Aerial Port Squadron at McChord AFB, Wash. 

Master Sgt. Ronald Beadles is a first sergeant assigned to the 319th Maintenance Squadron at Grand Forks AFB, N.D. 

Master Sgt. Maria Kraft is a first sergeant assigned to the 729th Air Mobility Squadron at Lajes Field, Azores.
