Remedy for wedding blues Published April 23, 2008 By Airman Amber Kelly-Woodward 375th Airlift Wing Public Affairs SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- The days are getting warmer, flowers are blooming and summer is near. This could only mean one thing - wedding season is here. The 375th Services Squadron is planning their first Bridal Extravaganza at the Scott Club May 1 from 5-8 pm for everybody on base. The extravaganza will feature a fashion show consisting of bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses, mother-of -the-bride and groom dresses and men's formal wear. "Twenty-one companies from the local area are going to be here," said Tracy Tinsely, 375th SVS commercial sponsorship coordinator. The different types of vendors will include formal wear, travel agents, cake artists, photographers and videographers, florists and disc-jockeys. Most vendors will also be handing out giveaways. The Scott Club will also be showcasing their catering abilities with free food. "We will have an hors d'oeuvre table and bits of chicken and beef for taste testing," said Mary Robles, Scott Club manager. "It will have a little bit of everything," said Ms. Tinsely. "This is great for other special events like birthdays and retirements. I think it's gonna be great." For more information, contact the Scott Club at 744-1333.
